This wonderful restaurant is perfect for a quiet date. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was just the same. We didn’t have anything that wasn’t just to die for! I cannot wait to come back!

Great selection of German meals with friendly service. Our family has been fortunate enough to visit Germany and we've developed a taste for German food. The dishes served at the Hildegard restaurant were authentic and delicious. We tried a few different dishes: Käsespätzl, German potato salad, Schnitzel, Bier Brats in a pretzel roll, and all were great! For dessert we had a piece of the coconut cake, which was light, tasty, but not too sweet. I highly recommend trying dessert!

Best German food ever! We had Goulash (beef tips with gravy over spaetzle), German potato salad, red cabbage, white bean and ham soup, and basket of breads and rolls including some sweet ones. Everything was excellent and plentiful. They have several desserts, but alas, we had to skip them, as we were stuffed. Large menu with several German beers and wines, which we also sampled. Highly recommended.

Spicy Goulasch was a table favorite (personally, I think it just tastes like vegetable and beef gravy, but it IS German food...)Dessert: I don't think you should leave without trying a slice of their house-made cake! The coconut cake was incredibly light and fluffy with a really amazing coconut/icing situation. The lemon cake was good but not AS good. I'll need to try chocolate next.

I could write pages on how good everything is at this restaurant. And they even gave me a piece of cake for my birthday. The food is so delicious and has the real taste of German food. The atmosphere also sets the stage and you feel transported back to Germany. The staff is quite friendly bathrooms are clean and this is my favorite German Restaurant in all of Northern Alabama. They have German beers and wines if you drink. Their deserts are just out of this world!

Great food and service. I was in the mood for some great German food and Hildegard's really delivered. Popular with both travelers and locals, reservations are a good idea because the restaurant does a brisk business. That said, walk-ins are welcome. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Huntsville.

We had the pleasure of eating here on Saturday night. We really enjoyed this restaurant. First off, the staff did an awesome job. Our waiter was great. The food was absolutely delicious. Two of us had soup with our meal. The soups were great and my wife loved her salad. Our main course meal did not disappoint. We did also try a German beer. We were full when we finished so we took home 3 different slices of homemade cake. They were fresh and good.
We live over an hour away and we definitely will being making many more visits here.

The food was delicious! The schnitzel, red cabbage, and potatoes were flavorful and cooked perfectly. They serve 3 breads that are just delicious. We both enjoyed the wine and beer recommendations as well. We even ordered two desserts to go because they looked so delicious and we were stuffed. Our server was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
